Most records come from PVRM, TVRM physical-auction, and E-Auction result PDFs published by the Hong Kong Transport Department. Historical ranges from 1973 to 2006 come from official workbook exports. Each plate page links directly to its source when available. Plate.hk auction records do not come from DATA.GOV.HK; a DATA.GOV.HK legislation resource must not be described as a vehicle-registration-mark auction dataset.
PVRM、TVRM 實體拍賣及拍牌易有甚麼分別？
PVRM 是獲運輸署批准、最多八個英文字母（不包括 I、O、Q）及／或數字的自訂組合，於實體場地拍賣。一般傳統車牌（不包括 HK／XX 字首）自 2025 年起使用「拍牌易」；HK／XX 字首及特殊傳統車牌是 TVRM 實體拍賣內的不同類別。不可只按外觀分類：應查看每筆紀錄的資料集及官方來源；例如本站收錄的 W、R、D、H、S、V 單字母紀錄來自 PVRM 官方結果。
PVRMs are approved custom combinations of up to eight letters (excluding I, O and Q) and/or numerals, sold at physical auctions. Ordinary traditional marks other than HK/XX prefixes use E-Auction; HK/XX-prefix marks and special traditional marks are separate categories within TVRM physical auctions. Do not classify a mark from appearance alone: use the row's dataset and official source. For example, Plate.hk's W, R, D, H, S, and V single-letter records come from official PVRM results.
車牌可以獨立轉讓嗎？
規則因類別而異。《道路交通（車輛登記及領牌）規例》第 17 條訂明 PVRM 可隨所屬車輛過戶並辦理分配證明書手續，但不可把號碼本身獨立轉讓。第 12 條則訂明特殊傳統車牌在車輛轉手時會被取消；普通傳統車牌另有保留及重新編配程序。1823 車牌轉移指引提供操作摘要。這是一般資料，不是法律意見；以現行法例及運輸署決定為準。
The rules differ by category. Regulation 17 of Cap. 374E provides for a PVRM to pass with its vehicle through the Certificate of Allocation procedure, but the mark cannot be transferred on its own. Under regulation 12, a traditional special registration mark is cancelled when vehicle ownership changes; ordinary traditional marks have separate retention and reassignment procedures. 限制
- 最新資料取決於官方文件是否已發布及排程更新是否成功。
- 舊工作簿資料部分只能準確到年份區段，不代表單一拍賣日。
- 自動提取可能有錯漏；高風險用途必須回看來源文件。
- 外部放售訊號與官方拍賣結果是不同資料層，不應混作官方成交。
- Freshness depends on official publication and successful scheduled updates.
- Some older workbook records are precise only to a year range, not a single auction date.
- Automated extraction can contain errors; high-stakes use requires checking the source document.
- External sale signals and official auction results are separate data layers and must not be presented as the same evidence.
